Between 5 and 6 PM today I searched the flock of Godwits at Tokeland Marina.
I was able to pick out the Bar-tailed Godwit without much trouble. It
looked like the one photographed by Ruth Sullivan (others have also provided
photos). Three Willets were also mixed with the flock. I also looked at
Midway and Bottle Beach for Buff-breasted Sandpiper, but did not find any.
The Bar-tailed Godwit is a life bird. Thanks to all those who have posted
about it.
