Hi Tweets, I am travelling to western Washington (Mt. Rainier to Olympics
to North Cascades, perhaps Okanogon) this week and next (yippee!!) for an
extensive birding trip, and among other target species, am interested in
locating some of the more difficult western woodpeckers (three-toed,
black-backed and white-headed). Any information on reliable locations (such
as relatively recent burn habitat?) would be greatly appreciated. Please
respond off-line. Thanks much in advance, and I hope to meet some of you
out in the field. I'll be the guy with the big smile searching through my
fresh western Sibley's.
