What you are seeing is pretty normal for hawks. Many thousands move down the mountain ridges all across our continent during fall. This southbound "tide" is widely monitored by a variety of hawk watching groups, including Hawk Mountain in PA, HawkWatch International in Nevada, and many others including Kent Woodruff and his crew here in WA at Chelan Ridge. Most of these groups welcome visitors in case you want to join them and learn more. Some will even train you to help them band the migrants, a truly unforgettable experience.
