Wed afternoon 9/16 at Jensen Access off Maupin Road on Fir Island, Josh Parrott and I spotted two American Golden Plovers and one Pacific Golden Plover in the dirt field immediately east of the access road, about one third of the way from Maupin Road to the parking lot.? Tues eve there were no plovers to be seen but on Mon 9/14, a flock of about 200 Black-bellied Plovers landed on the grassy hummocks at the water line of high tide.? We did not find any golden plovers but they could have been in the group.?

This afternoon at Wylie there were a large number of waterfowl.? Of interest, there was a group of about 30 Blue-winged Teal with about 5 Green-winged Teal near the parking area.? Also, we saw two Wilson Snipes.? It is amazing to see the wetland that this area has become.
