Hello, there were easily more than 9,000 ducks tightly packed together in North Grays Harbor this morning. Approximately 75% were NORTHERN PINTAIL, with maybe 18% AMERICAN WIGEON and 7% GREEN-WINGED TEAL.
On 13 August there were 2000+ BROWN PELICANS on Goose Island in Grays Harbor.
On 22 August 2500 or so DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS streamed in hordes past Bill's Spit at Ocean Shores.
On 17 August there was a juvenile GOLDEN EAGLE over the Elk River near Brady's Oysters, near Westport.
There was a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE at Schouweiler Road 1 Sept.

On the 3 Sept. while out in the middle of the Westport marina, I was surprised when I turned and a flotilla of MARBLED GODWITS was on the water just off the boat. I was confused for a moment, as I don't often see godwits doing the deep water ducky swim. It was then that I looked up and saw a juvenile (probably female) PEREGRINE FALCON coming in for another pass. She buzzed them multiple times, but none would take to the air; she quit after a couple of minutes. See pics at:
