A juvenile or female plumaged ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK made a quick visit to our sunflower seed feeders this afternoon. Both Susan and I had a chance to look it over with binoculars from the living room window about 20' from the feeder. For the last thirty years I have been expecting one among the hordes of Black-headed Grosbeaks that we get in August but we haven't had any Black-headeds in about two weeks.
