I took a walk out the west side of Semiahmoo yesterday and happened
upon a large flock of shorebirds comprised of mostly Black-bellied
Plovers, but there was a few treats as well.

Right in the
middle of the flock standing tall above the plovers was a single
Marbled Godwit, also mixed in amongst them were 2 Red Knots. There was
also a few dowitchers mostly Short-billed I believe, but there was at
least one Long-billed. Further down the beach there was 2 Semipalmated
Plovers scurrying along the tide line. On the other side of the spit by
the marina there were 2 Black Oystercatchers, 1 Black Turnstone, and
some Canadian Geese. It was a gorgeous day to be out and I am looking
forward to revisiting this spot later this week. No Golden-plovers yesterday, but I'll keep looking.
