Birdy morning hike at Sunrise at Mt Rainier on Saturday. I didn't know
Red-breasted Nuthatches could be so talkative. At my home they only
ever say ?Yank-Yank.? When there's a dozen of them together they have
a lot more to say, and a lot more words to say it with.

Also notable were the dozens of Mountain Bluebirds above treeline on
the Mt. Burroughs hike. Along with the expected Horned Larks there
were some Yellow-rumped Warblers up there too. Perhaps there are just
so many of them poured into our region right now that they just
overflow into every available habitat. Also, a fly-by of a Peregrine.
