today's mystery bird is a North American LBJ that has some rather distinctive characters;

the most recently demystified mystery bird was a Willow Flycatcher, Empidonax traillii, thanks to photographer terry sohl. this bird generated a tremendous amount of commentary, and because the commentary was so interesting and thoughtful, i didn't step in to provide any clues;
