This afternoon I checked Borst Park for gulls, and then the pond at the end of Goodrich Rd. and then walked the Chehalis River Discovery Trail.
I wasn't surprised by the lack of gulls at Borst Park since they have been absent from the county since the end of December, but was surprised to find 1 WESTERN GULL in the mix of Glaucous-winged and hybrid gulls.
The rains have helped the pond at the end of Goodrich Rd. Once again 1/2 full, but nothing on or around the pond yet. Most of the waterfowl was in the slough at the bend on Goodrich Rd. The walk on the trail produced some good birds including another surprise, 1 NORTHERN ROUGH WINGED SWALLOW flying over the river. Other birds were;

Wood Duck 3
Green-winged Teal 3
Ring-necked Duck 1
Bufflehead 2
Common Merganser 1
Turkey Vulture 2
Northern Harrier 1
Red-tailed Hawk 2
American Kestrel 2
Western Scrub-Jay 1
Common Raven 1
Tree Swallow lots
Violet-green Swallow lots
Northern Rough-winged Swallow 1
Bewick's Wren 1
American Robin 45
White-crowned Sparrow 3
Golden-crowned Sparrow 2
Pine Siskin 8
