Dear Tweets,

A Killdeer approached me as I drove around the tennis court parking
area. He didn't seem too upset that I was there. The bird kept
hopping closer and didn't mind. Peterson's description of the
Killdeer was a perfect fit, with the exception of this Killdeer's tail
feathers. It's tail feathers had both an even band of black bordering
white tips, but less diamond shaped than illustrated versions of
Peterson's Guide 2008. The overall tail feather shape of this
Killdeer matched more closely to the descriptions/illustrations of the
Semipalmated Plover.
