There is a second heron nest under construction on the steel breakwater across the marina from the Beach Cafe.??? The first one I saw was on the south end of the steel section, the one my friend Dave found today is on the north end.?? If you are walking south, it it south?of pier "P".

This?north nest apppears more substantial than the south nest and is built on top of a metal box surrounded by a railing.?? I checked the south nest and found more twigs added to it.? I have been taking photos and compare?the day to day photos when I get home.???? Still no sign of any nesting activity in the marsh rookery.

If the local herons have indeed abandoned the rookery in the marsh, will they try to nest nearby (like in the marina) or?relocate farther away.?
