Yesterday, for the first time this Spring, I saw a White-Crowned Sparrow
feasting on the millet in my yard. He stayed around--in and out of the
brush pile--for several hours, hobnobbing with the Juncos and Varied
Thrush. At one time, he was joined by Song and Fox Sparrows. All of
them seemed to be getting along well until a Spotted Towhee appeared.
The Thrush made some aggressive moves towards the Towhee who moved
backwards a hop or two--and then the Thrush flew away! Interesting...
