Following Marv Breece's success with this bird, I spent a couple hours at
the Tualco Loop Rd Sunday morning - with no success. After some slow driving
around the loop, I used my car as a blind next to the "calf pen" at the
dairy farm on the NE section of the loop. After some patience, I experienced
three large flocks of mostly Brewer's Blackbirds, Brown-headed Cowbirds and
European Starlings. The flock would forage for several minutes before
flushing *en masse* to the south. The flock usually returned in 15-20
minutes for another cycle.

We also experienced some good size flocks south on Tualco Road from the
T-intersection.

Tom Mansfield and several other cars full of birders tried and no one had
any success to my knowledge.

NOTE: please keep out of the way of large trucks and bulldozers that require
full use of this small road. The owner came out to ask what I was doing and
was quite friendly once I informed him that I was a birder. He has been the
victim of some mischievous (and downright nefarious) activity in the past
and is appropriately skeptical of any lingering cars. He wished me good luck
and continued with his day. Please be respectful of his privacy and
property.
