Staff of the Port of Edmonds apparently removed the two nests which the herons had built on north and south end of the steel breakwater west of Anthony's Beach Cafe.?? An old timer I have frequently seen?at the marina said he witnessed someone throwing the sticks into the water.??? The old timer's credibility may be up to question as he?also claimed to have seen an "egret's" nest removed in a similar manner?in the past.???

?Regardess, the herons' nests?are gone.?? In fairness to the port, the north nest was built on top of what appears to an electric cabinet which serves a nearby warning beacon.? The nest at the south end was also near a warning beacon.
