Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 15. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The TUFTED DUCK near the Portland Airport continues to be seen.

Migrantions are increasing with shorebirds now arriving. All the swallows
have now arrived including BANK SWALLOW and PURPLE MARTIN. HOUSE WRENS are
also back on both sides of the Cascades.

On April 12 a male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was at South Beach State Park near
Newport. A LARK SPARROW was in Seaside April 10. A RUDDY TURNSTONE was at
Seaside Cove April 11.

On April 13 a flock of VAUX?S SWIFTS were over Oaks Bottom in Portland. A
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER and a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER were at Jackson
Bottom in Hillsboro April 13. A HAMMOND?S FLYCATCHER was near Corvallis
April 11. A LARK SPARROW was near Grants Pass April 10. Four CASSIN?S VIREOS
were south of Grants Pass April 11.

The WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS are now back along the Crooked River. On April 8 a
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was near Sisters. On April 12, 22 WHITE PELICANS were
on Houston Lake near Powell Butte. On April 12 a WHITE-FACED IBIS was at
Hatfield Lake near Bend. A BLACK PHOEBE was photographed April 10 at the
Fisherman?s Pond east of Burns.
