Hi Tweets:

Here we are, two weeks until the festival begins its 15th annual celebration
of the spring migration and the birds are gathering. I have seen a
perceptible increase in numbers out on the beaches, and the sight of long,
strung-out ribbons of birds moving over my house to the Pacific side two
hours before high tide and back to the inner harbor side two hours after has
reminded me to send this note.

The "In Search of Coastal Raptors" field trip is full; with just a donated
passenger van, piloted by Dr. Dan himself, this was sure to go first. The Pt
Grenville trip is filling up next but still has room for about 15
adults...remember these are school buses so we are leaving generous room for
adults plus equipment. Tokeland still has plenty of spots as do the two
Ocean Shores and Westport field trips.

Finally, our Keynote Speaker, Craig Lee, has a unique perspective of the
migration routes and the conservation and biodiversity efforts of the
countries along those routes. I would like to see the room filled for his
talk; we are only a third of the way to that goal.

I will give updates on this forum, both on the birds and on the status of
the events. Please come join us!
