Hi all
At midday the sound of high-flying geese pulled me out of the house. It was
thrilling to watch about 600 Cackling Geese, probably part of Nisqually's
Taverner's wintering flock, passing over our home. They were headed NNW in a
broad V and I estimated them to be about 2000 feet up, no doubt climbing to
cruising altitude for their northward passage.

We just moved into our home on the northern Kitsap Peninsula (halfway
between Poulsbo and Kingston) about a month ago, so that was a pretty
exciting yard bird this early in our tenure!
