Well, I thought it was a Rough-legged Hawk. I've been informed that it's a young Red-tailed Hawk. My apologies and thank you all for the correction. I'll be changing my photo labels. I was pretty excited for awhile.

BOY, do I love this time of year. There was all kinds of Spring action at the Fill today. Highlight's include:

Banded Rough-legged Hawk East Meadow eating a snake (silver band on right leg with 1807 visible) Pretty uncommon for this site.
Amorous Cinnamon Teals Southwest Pond
Nest building Marsh Wrens Southwest Pond area
Robins nest sitting
American Pipets, Shovelers Pond FOY for me
Pied-billed Grebes Southwest Pond eggs laid and enlarging nest area.
