Hi Tweets -
Hoping to catch a little of the spring migration fun, I made a brief
trip this morning to the Kent Valley. Nice morning, with the
following highlights:

YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS - at least 2 at the 'Toysmith Ponds.' (I
ran into Brian Bell as I arrived here, and he was the one to spot the
bright males on one of the snags). Also present were many ducklings
scooting about. [Toysmith Ponds are just south of 272nd & east of
Hwy 167, next to the entrance to the UHaul building]

In the Smith Brothers' Dairy fields, about 40 AMERICAN PIPITS
appeared out of thin air, landed in front of me, and disappeared into
nothingness - typical.

The flooded fields north of of 287th , just east off W.Valley Hwy,
had at least a dozen GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 2-3 LEAST SANDPIPERS, & a
half dozen active WILSON'S SNIPE.

The M St. Emerald Downs fields had a flock of sharp looking DUNLIN, 2
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS and good numbers of ducks remaining.

Up at the mitigation ponds off 212th, a pair of CINNAMON TEAL was
present, and several BARN SWALLOWS were zooming overhead. Across
212th in the fields, a dozen GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were still
present.

The fields south of 205th off Frager are getting drier, but there is
still a good bit of mud north of the road -- several more GREATER
YELLOWLEGS were hanging out in this area.

Lots of Common Yellowthroats & Savannah Sparrows around at most every stop --
