Yesterday I birded a few locations in Grays Harbor County.


Brady Loop

Cackling Goose - several flocks of minima in flight
Osprey - on the platform
American Kestrel - 1 male
Merlin - a beautiful male Taiga
Sora - 1 heard in the marsh
Black-bellied Plover
Killdeer
Short-billed Dowitcher - 4
Greater Yellowlegs - several scattered about
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper - 10
Dunlin
Band-tailed Pigeon
Swallow - all except Bank and P Martin
American Pipit - too many to count
Western Scrub-Jay - 1
Orange-crowned Warbler - 5 or more
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1 myrtle
Common Yellowthroat
Purple Finch
Evening Grosbeak - large flock


Ocean Shores - viewing conditions were poor due to wind and rain

King Eider - she continues; base of Damon Pt; with Surf Scoters
Marbled Godwit - flock of 300+ at park near golf course
Short-billed Dowitcher - 1 with MAGO flock
Surfbird - on the jetty


Bottle Beach at high tide: about 2000 shorebirds

Black-bellied Plover - 15-20 in basic to alt plumage
Semipalmated Plover - 4
Short-billed Dowitcher - 25-30
Greater Yellowlegs - 1 in alt plum
Western Sandpiper - somewhat fewer numbers than Dunlin
Dunlin - in basic to alt plumage
Caspian Tern


Westport

Brown Pelican - I counted 150 at the marina; there were more than that in the area
Least Sandpiper - 1 at the marina
Glaucous Gull - 1 at the marina
Horned Lark - 1 near the jetty
