Hi all,

I got out early this morning and visited some of the "hot spots" in Lincoln County. I'm happy to say with 3 county lifers today that my Lincoln life list now stands at 200 species. Here are the highlights:

Reardan Ponds - Sora and Virginia Rails calling everywhere, no Bitterns heard, 3 fly over Black-necked Stilts

Detour Road / Crab Creek - FOY Barn Swallow, Wilson's Snipe (winnowing)

Old Kuck's Road - Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, 80 Dunlin, 1 Black-necked Stilt, Sage Thrasher, Vesper Sparrow, one Brewer's Sparrow

Davenport Cemetery - Fox Sparrow, Un-ID'd Empid flycatcher (will look at photos later), lots of both Kinglets

Mill Canyon - Snow Goose (on the mudflats - water is super low), three Greater Yellowlegs (one had orang-ish legs - I tried hard to make into a Ruff), Ruffed Grouse (drumming), male White-headed Woodpecker

Mondovi Lake - 2 more Snow Geese

My county lifers were Snow Goose, Ruffed Grouse, and Fox Sparrow. 78 species total for the half day today - not bad! 46 species alone in Mill Canyon! If you haven't been there, you must go!
