Hey Tweets,

Swung through Kent/Auburn yesterday, and then again today:

204th off of Frager: A little more water yesterday, and the Yellowlegs numbers had gone up to about 20, along with 4 Least Sandpipers. Today, no Leasts, (replaced by 5 Dunlin), and just a handful of Yellowlegs.

Four species of swallows (barn, cliff, tree, violet-green) were swarming the river and fields. I also walked up the path past where Frager dead-ends and found about a hundred White-Crowned and Golden-Crowned Sparrows in the fields. Picked them over for anything uncommon and came up with nothing.

The fields on the North side of 204th also held a Wood Duck, foraging in the wet field with some Canada Geese, Gadwall and Mallards. Raptors in the last two days have included Peregrine Falcon (yesterday), Bald Eagle, and Red Tailed Hawk.

285th West of the West Valley Highway: Yesterday, I found 3-4 peeps, today about 50 (!). There were Least Sandpipers in there, and... many of the little guys were beyond my skill/optics. Also Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs in good numbers here (1-2 dozen).

Thomas Ponds: Didn't have any shorebirds there yesterday, but as I started the car to leave, a Green Heron swung up onto a branch and looked at me with its neck stretched out, and the crest on its head looking awfully shaggy. Very cool.

Greater White Fronted Geese were seen off of 212th today, and at the M Street ponds yesterday.

A couple more days of spring break - hopefully I'll see some of you out there!
