Hi Tweets,

In between all the rain, I enjoyed a nice, dry walk this morning at Lk Sam. I entered the Park on the path/road that's across the street from Costco, near 2 sports fields. Soon, I heard a Hutton's Vireo in the coniferous forest (my first for the Park!), and when I got out in the open, spotted 7 Least Sandpipers feeding in the newly created mud in the mowed and replanted south meadow where the Red-Tailed Hawks are nesting--the mud is along the newly cleared area near Tibbits Creek, which is the result of restoration efforts the Park has been making to several areas. Another smile on my face when I saw my first-of-the-year Spotted Sandpiper along Issaquah Creek. Seven American Pipits were feeding on the sandy/muddy shore at Jensen's Beach. I saw and heard most of the usual birds for this time of year, and was glad to see 3 Red-Breasted Sapsuckers, which I've missed seeing the last few times.
