Hi Tweets,
As I headed down to the Kent Valley this morning, only 300 meters from my home, I found a Chipping sparrow in a small flock of House finches in the Briarcrest Elementary School grass playfield at the corner of 155th and 30 Ave. NE, in Shoreline. In the Kent Valley, a male Blue-winged teal was in the flooded field north of S. 285th St. in Kent. Just east of the "Black phoebe" bridge, in the tall grass, at the end of M Street in Auburn, an American bittern was playing its frozen stick routine. I found 8 species of shorebirds at my various Kent Valley stops..but nothing out of the ordinary.
Happy Spring birding,
