Hi Tweets,

Spent a couple hours this morning at Stillwater with Mark and Stan. On the way to the area where the Bank Swallows nest, we spotted a couple of sparrows feeding near each other on the ground at the far edge of the large field. One was clearly a Savannah Sparrow, and, with the spotting scope, we were able to ID the other as a Brewer's! Soon after, we heard Warbling Vireo song, at two different locations along the forest edge. At the riverbank, we saw a Spotted Sandpiper, and then first heard then saw a few Northern Rough-winged Swallows. Then, just as we were leaving, looked one more time with the hope of seeing a Bank Swallow. Voila, there were now at least two flying with the others! Some of the swallows were clinging to the bank, so we put one in the scope and watched as a Bank Swallow disappeared briefly into a hole.

Another great morning!
