Hi, was wondering, as I don't ever remember any posts regarding such. I live in a regular neighborhood on the west side of Olympia and for the past several years have had up to 2 Lincoln's Sparrows spend as much as a week during the spring working the millet with the White-crowns, Golden-crowns and House Sparrows aside my house. As well, one spent 2 days there in the fall of 2006. Anyone else? Have had good luck with this narrow strip of my yard (only 20 feet from the next house) with Clay-colored, Harris's and "Red" Fox Sparrows and Mountain Chickadee. Also, when I just went to estimate that 20 feet, a Great Blue Heron was out there eyeing my Koi pond!
Had a max of 3 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS in the yard a bit earlier this year, but all have moved on. A TUNDRA SWAN spent at least 2 days (19 & 20 April) at Mud Bay, just south of HWY 101 in Olympia.
Thanks,
Keith Brady
