Last?Friday I heard a terrific racket underneath the floating concrete walkway at the marina which leads out to the fuel dock?.? A mother mallard?was out with her ducklings.? She was calling them as they swam out from under the walkway to join her.??The group then swam north.????

Unfortunately, one of the ducklings could not find its way out and became separated from the group.?? Once it found its way out, it swam south. I thought it appropriate that it swam past a boat named "Urchin"?as I snapped a photo.? ?I felt sorry for the duckling, as I doubt it could last long without its mother.??I know that a lot of ducklings never make it to adulthood.

On Saturday I saw two Canada geese?swimming ?with their American born offspring?beneath the walkway?to the fishing pier.?
