Hello all again,
We stopped at Tom Lamb's place today - 2.2 miles up Biscuit Ridge Road out of Dixie, WA - he has feeders up and is ready for business - we watched male Rufous and Calliope Hummingbirds come in.
For those of you who have not yet visited Tom - he welcomes visitors most any time but the best hummingbird activity is the hour before dark when the hummers will sit on your hands to drink. We have seen as many as 300+ in an evening. The hummers will be there from now thru August but the best time is mid-May.
Tom's dog is Duchess - German Shepherd - she will not hurt you -
Tom is 86 and does have a can for donations to help purchase sugar and pay help to clean and fill the feeders. We are very happy he is able to keep up the hummingbird garden again this year - it is a magical place.
Hope you can visit - ML
