After a brief, disappointing seawatch at the North Head Lighthouse at Cape Disappointment (3 White-winged Scoters, 6 Pacific Loons, 1 Brant, ~25 Pigeon Guillemots, that was about it), I headed straight for Wahkiakum Co to work on my county list.

Along 403 (Altoona-Pillar Rock Rd), there were about 25 Red-throated and 3 Common Loons. Also many Surf Scoters and 6 Pelagic Cormorants.

Julia Butler Hansen NWR had a pair of Blue-winged Teal.

Along Beaver Creek Rd, a Sooty Grouse was tooting at MP3.7. At the same spot were also a several Red Crossbills. Further along, near MP6.5, a McGillivray's Warbler was singing briefly.

Large roosting flocks of 100+ Caspian Terns were at both Julia Butler Hansen and Puget Island. Overall, Wilson's and Black-throated Gray Warblers and Pacific-slope Flycatchers were singing on territory wherever I went. The only singing Warbling Vireo of the day was along Spruce Ck Rd just across the border in Cowlitz Co.
