There are still spaces available on the Saturday, May 1 Westport Seabirds Trip. This is the first trip of the season and its always hard to predict what might be out there. This is one of the best times of the year for rarities such as Murphy's Petrel and Parakeet Auklet. Last Friday a Parakeet Auklet and Cassins Auklets were reported from Boiler Bay in Oregon. Last month Cooks and Hawaiian Petrels were recorded from a research vessel off Southern California. All are unusual sightings and are not really expected, but it just goes to show you, who knows what might be out there.
