Saturday Marcia K and I went up to Edmonds.? We had five pairs of HORNED GREBES in full breeding plumage just off the pier.? They were close enough for us to watch their journeys underwater to catch fish.? There was a BARROWS GOLDENEYE pair near the ferry, and lots of SURF SCOTERS on the other side of the ferry dock.? Also?a couple of BONAPARTE'S GULLS in winter plumage. And three PIGEON GUILLEMOT.?

We walked over to the marsh and saw a bunch of peeps but they were too far for us to ID.? We got nice looks at an OSPREY and a pair of BALD EAGLES being harassed by crows and we were serenaded by a MARSH WREN.?

Late report: Saturday April 17 Marcia K and I did the Arboretum bird walk with Shiva.? We had nice looks at a PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER.?
