Hi Tweets,

I enjoyed a fairly birdy hour at Fay Bainbridge State Park at the
northeast side of Bainbridge Island this morning. I was a bit surprised
to have a tad early, male, BULLOCK'S ORIOLE singing on territory just
outside the north part of the park. They have bred at this location over
the years but my first detections have always been after the first of
May. I'm all but certain this male is here to stay for the season.

There was a decent movement of other migrants including my first of
spring Western Tanagers (five of them). Over the next two weeks I look
forward to decent numbers of them passing through places like Fay
Bainbridge and Point no Point. A lone Nashville Warbler was a treat.
About a hundred Yellow-rumped Warblers, a dozen Orange-crowned Warblers,
and a few Wilson's Warblers worked their way through the park.

All the activity made it kind of tough to head off to work.

Cheers and good birding,

Brad Waggoner
