Needing to not think of work I stopped off briefly at the fill this
morning. Very windy and cold and threatening rain so I limited myself
to 20 minutes. Not ideal conditions and after a short while at the
Surber swamp I never got past Shoveler's pond where sadly there has been
a major blow down and a tree with surprising shallow roots is now
horizontal instead of vertical. Two mourning doves on the path towards
the pond from Urban Hort. Orange crowned warblers at both Urban Hort
and along Surber and a VERY FAST merlin fly by (actually a fly through)
in the swamp. Then off to work in an improved mood.
