Hello this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 29. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 25 two very early NIGHTHAWKS were over I5 just north of Woodburn.

Heavy migrations continue through the week. Most conspicuous were flocks of
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. Several CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS were reported in the
southern Willamette Valley with one at Manning April 27. Shorebirds are now
swarming northward with over 350 MARBLED GODWITS near Flores Lake April 26.
Large numbers of EVENING GROSBEAKS are now flocking in the Willamette
Valley.

On April 27 a BLACK-NECKED STILT was at Oaks Bottom in Portland and two were
in the wetlands near Deer Island. The next day three were at Ridgefield NWR.
On April 24 a BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was reported from Mt. Tabor in
Portland. Up to seven WHITE PELICANS were reported during the week at the
Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove.

On April 25 an AMERICAN AVOCET, four WESTERN KINGBIRDS, and 30 WHITE
PELICANS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. That day a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was
on the Columbia River at Rufus.

That?s it for this week.
