note to bird-image-takers:

currently there are fairly large numbers of Audubon's yellow-rumped warblers
near the confluence of tokul creek and the snoqualmie river. the males are
stunning. while these are fairly common around here, the terrain at the
site often yields views of birds at eye level or below. i saw them briefly
today with no time to take images, but it's evident one has a least a chance
of getting a decent shot showing the entire head pattern of an adult male
with some patience and a lot of luck. the best place appeared to be the
east end of the state parking lot for fishermen. you need a parking permit
for there or across the road at the bridge, but i don't know if they're
writing tickets or not.

rufous hummers, the dipper male, a kingfisher pair, a third year bald eagle
and sex crazed woodpeckers abound as well.

regards,

t
