Hi Tweets

Yesterday was somewhat unusual at Marymoor as Michael was only with us for a couple of hours before he had to head off to catch a flight to Philadelphia. The day started out cloudy, but it never rained. The temperature was 43F to start and got all the way up to 63 by the end of the day, with some sun. No wind. It was a good spring morning with lots of singing and calling.

We wound up with 65 species. At least 107 for the year.

Notable birds:
Green Heron - flyby for Michael as he left
Cooper's Hawk - flyby for Michael as he left
Barn Owl - there are two downy young in the nest box
Western Kingbird - in East Meadow
Warbling Vireo
Purple Martin - 1 male at lake
Black-capped Chickadee - at nest
Chestnut-backed Chickadee - at nest
Hermit Thrush - 2
Orange-crowned Warbler - at least 20
Nashville Warbler - 1 male singing along trail from East Meadow to Alder/Cottonwood Forest
