Subject: [Tweeters] Film of Spoon-billed Sandpiper (not RBA)

Sorry, I didn't know quite how to phrase the subject line without making
everyone's hearts skip a beat. I just saw this video on OBOL. It's from just
a couple months ago of a calling male Spoon-billed Sandpiper from Far
Eastern Russia, where it breeds. It is a critically-endangered species with
an estimated population of 500-1,000. Biggest threat: rapidly disappearing
habitat along critical migration stopovers in East Asia and wintering ranges
in SE Asia, namely Thailand and Burma.

Dear all,

For those interested, I've uploaded a clip in high definition of a
displaying male Spoon-billed Sandpiper. Filmed during an expedition to
Chukotka in the Russian Far East this summer by the undersigned.

Please have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmEaCj60mF8

For HD-resolution, please change the settings to 720p by clicking the button
at the lower right corner of the frame.

Best Wishes,
