I retract my message this morning announcing a Tennessee Warbler in Wapato-3
August. I was not able to relocate the bird to get photo documentation
despite several hours of effort. After studying the literature, I more fully
appreciate: 1) the range of plumage variation in Orange-crowned Warblers; 2)
because of identification challenges, I feel a photo should be obtained to
cinch this report; 3) the timing of this sighting falls outside the
documented pattern for this species in Washington in fall (early by at least
a couple weeks).
