Denny Van Horn reports at faded adult Red-necked Stint on the
mudflats just west of Three Crabs restaurant, in Dungeness, spending
time with Westerns, Leasts, and at least one Semipalmated Sandpiper.
He possibly first saw the bird last weekend, and he says Wednesday it
hung around for a couple minutes, long enough to get a good study.
He has seen it both times on the incoming tide, which occurs in the
late morning right now. He says he did not see it yesterday. His
observations are from the north end of Sequim-Dungeness Way in front
of the restaurant, looking west.

This is the same location were the first Red-necked Stint for WA
showed up in 2005, present between at least July 28 and August 4.

If you're in the area, please don't park in the restaurant parking
lot unless you plan to eat there. The tidelands adjacent to the road
and parking lot are all private, so please respect the signs. Local
birders have worked real hard to build good relations with the
property owners.
