Subject: [Tweeters] Solitary Sandpiper on Vashon Island

While leading a tour today, I, too, found a solitary Solitary Sandpiper at Mukai Pond on Vashon Island. There were Western Sandpipers at nearby Fisher's Pond but I couldn't turn up a dowitcher as hoped there. Fern Cove, which often has 5-6 shorebird species at this time of year had only Least Sandpipers and Killdeer.
