Hi Tweeters,

I visited Ridgefield NWR, Clark County, early this morning (6:45am through
10:30am) and was treated to an incredible shorebird feast on Rest Lake as
follows:

Killdeer: 8
Semipalmated Plover: 2
Greater Yellowlegs: 75+
Lesser Yellowlegs: 40+
SOLITARY SANDPIPER: 1 - channel that parallels the road on the south side of
Rest Lake)
Spotted Sandpiper: 1
Pectoral Sandpiper: 1
Baird's Sandpiper: 5 - eventually all in one flock
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER: 5
Least Sandpiper: 50+
Western Sandpiper: 4
Long-billed Dowitcher: 210
Short-billed Dowitcher: 1+ (by call)
Wilson's Snipe: 11
WILSON'S PHALAROPE: 2
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE: 3

Other birds of note were:

Yellow-headed Blackbird
Rufous Hummingbird
Purple Martin
Willow Flycatcher
American Bittern
