Tweets - about 2 hours ago, as high tide approached, I saw what I believe
was a SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER at the SE corner of Crocket Lake. The bird was
preening on the shore.

It was distinctly bigger than the Semipalmated Plovers and Western
Sandpipers walking in front of it.

I mostly only saw it breast on. It had an unstreaked buffy breast, with
streaks only on the upper sides in that little triangle above the curve of
the wing and maybe a little across the top of the throat area.. The legs we
yellow-green. It had a reddish cap and a fairly distinct pale supercillium.
The back was dark, and quite reddish. The lower scapulars were
dark-to-black with boldly pale edgings. The bill was short and black or
mostly black.

It turned sideways to me for a half second, and then took off and I could
not relocate it.
