I posted last week that it appeared the nest of Vaux's Swifts at my neighbor's had fledged. Now, it appears that the whole neighborhood has erupted. For the last several days there has been a sizeable flock of ~20 Swifts circling low over the yards. At one point last night, 8 of them flew down into the neighbor's chimney for the night- I'm not sure where the others spent the night. The Swifts have nested in the neighborhood for years, but this is the first year that I can remember so many!
