I had always assumed over the years?that MacGillivray was a guy like Wilson, Townsend, Steller,?Baird,?etc.
?
MacGillivray was an early Scottish woman naturalist who was called by some the?first environmentalist.?
?
Anyway, a young MacG's was in our recirculating creek just now--our first fall record for this bird in our yard in Beacon Hill, Seattle.
