Thanks for making the "mysterious nocturnal call" available online. I have
listened to it carefully, and I can honestly say that I have never heard any
bird or animal call remotely like this in my life. I doubt that it's a bird,
simply because there are few nocturnal bird species in our area, none of
which sounds like this. My guess would be some kind of amphibian or mammal,
probably non-native, but I completely unable to put a name on it.

Well, my "mysterious nocturnal call" is apparently pretty flummoxing! (See
my original post below for the location and timing of the call.) My partner,

Of course, this may be an escaped pet, non-avian, or ET for all I know. A
