The Mongolian Plover departed or hid fron about 9 am to 2:30 pm.? At 2:30 -- high tide-- it reappeared far out in the dry sand due south of the Tonquin trail.? It was still there when I left at about 3:30, but it had sat down & hidden itself.? Stilt & Baird's Sandpiper hung around all day.?

Out at the beach, there were thousands of Black-bellied Plover & Western Sandpipers, along with hundreds of Least Sandpipers & Sanderlings + a few LB Dowitchers & Dunlin.? Many Dunlin & BB Plover still in breeding plumage.? Thousands of Gulls & Sooty Shearwaters.? Gorgeous birds, gorgeous day.
