Tim,

I hadn't even considered Heermann's - I have seen them further north, mostly
island county, but must not have heard them before. I listened to the
Cornell recording, and though it is of a larger number at once (there were
two birds in Edmunds) the call is very similar! That very well could have
been what I heard. I know what you mean, it is hard not to laugh when you
listen, it's a contagious kind of laughter.

Thanks for pointing me to the Heermann's. I had listened to both Laughing
Gull and Franklin's Gull recordings and neither had sounded right.
