I can see why you thought Northern Goshawk, but as you say, the long wings and location indicate osprey. I'm always driving and can't stop to look for very long

meant to post earlier - this "guy" was sitting on a SR 520 lamp post - 9 Aug. - I'd been thinking female Northern Goshawk, but I suppose it is a juvenile Osprey, based on location over Portage Bay & the LONG WINGS!!?
