The primary measurement of the brightness of an image is the size of the objective lens. No 32mm binoculars are going to be as bright as a pair of comparable 42s. The coating on most quality binoculars are similar and will not overcome the difference in objectives.

For the price, I have yet to find a pair of binos better than Nikon Monarch 8x42. On birding trips, I see more of these that any other binoculars.
